Drummers or percussionists looking for a more compact sound or wishing to dampen the sound from their instruments should take a look at these Moongel Damper pads by RTOM. They're perfect for helping to eliminate undesirable overtones or unwanted resonance from your toms and snare drums, for instance. They even work well on cymbals!
RTOM Moongel Transparent (set of 6)
This set includes 6 transparent, reusable damper pads that stick automatically to most drums, cymbals and percussion instruments thanks to the self-adhesive gel. The pads are washable and will retain their stickiness for years to come.
Why use damper pads instead of duct tape?
If a drumhead manufacturer has spared no expense in researching and testing to produce the perfect drumhead for any situation and then drummers simply stick duct tape on top, all of the time and energy spent perfecting that drumhead's sound is essentially wasted.
In theory, if a drummer has chosen the right drumhead and the drum has been tuned there shouldn't really be a need for dampening. If you decide that dampening is required, however, duct tape is actually one of the worst choices. It may dampen overtones and resonance but it also adversely affects the sound of the drum head.
RTOM's Moongel damper pads, on the other hand, have been specially designed to respect the original sound of the drumhead. The only thing they do is dampen overtones and resonance. That's not just great for you, your gear and its sound, but the drumhead manufacturers are sure to be happy too!

Fijne dingen zijn t. Zelf stem ik mijn toms erg laag, maar houd ik de boel wel het liefst strak, en ik was onderhand een beetje klaar met zon lelijk stuk ducktape op iedere tom ;). Ze doen hun werk erg goed, boven mijn verwachting zelfs! Het enige nadeel wat ik tot nu toe heb ondervonden is dat één van de pads vervormd is en niet goed meer plakt, helaas helpt wassen ook niet.
Al om al is het de 9,50 zeker waard, het staat net wat mooier op het podium en het werkt ook nog eens! ;)

Werkt goed. De plek waar je ze op het vel plaatst heeft ook veel effect op het resultaat. Een nadeel is dat op een gegeven moment de plakkracht weg is en ze erg vies en stoffig worden en wassen helpt ook maar een paar keer.
Erg fijne pads. Ik gebruik ze op mijn snare drum, en hij klinkt nu veel strakker!
17 euro is alleen wel een beetje duur voor 6 pads.
